LOCATION & ACCESS
Where exactly is Pax Hotel Roma located?
Pax Hotel Roma is situated in the historic centre of Rome, in one of the city's most coveted neighbourhoods — close to everything, yet composed and quiet. The Pantheon is a 5-minute walk, Piazza Navona 8 minutes, the Trevi Fountain 10 minutes, and the Spanish Steps 9 minutes. And just a few steps away from the famous shopping area including Via del Corso.
How do I get to Pax Hotel Roma from Fiumicino Airport?
Fiumicino Airport (Leonardo da Vinci) is approximately 35 minutes by car from the hotel under normal traffic conditions. We recommend arriving by private taxi or pre-booked transfer for the most seamless experience. We can arrange a private car transfer on your behalf — simply contact us when making your reservation. The Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini is also an option, followed by a short taxi ride to the hotel.
Is parking available at the hotel?
Pax Hotel Roma is located in the historic ZTL zone (Zona a Traffico Limitato), where private vehicle access is restricted. We strongly advise arriving by taxi, rideshare, or pre-arranged transfer. If you are travelling by car, we are happy to recommend the nearest authorised parking facilities. Our team can assist with ZTL permits if required — please enquire in advance.
Which Rome landmarks are within walking distance?
You are steps from some of Rome's greatest monuments: the Pantheon (5 min), Piazza Navona (8 min), Trevi Fountain (10 min), and the Spanish Steps (9 min). The Vatican Museums, Colosseum, and Borghese Gallery are reachable within 20–30 minutes by taxi or public transport. Our team will happily craft a personalised walking itinerary for you.
ROOMS & AMENITIES
How many rooms does Pax Hotel Roma have?
Pax Hotel Roma has 16 rooms — a deliberate choice. We are not a large hotel, and we have no intention of becoming one. Our size allows us to offer a genuinely personal experience: every guest is known by name, every preference noted, and every stay curated with care. This is Rome at a human scale.
What amenities are included in every room?
Each room has been designed for quiet comfort and simplicity. Expect high-quality bedding, blackout curtains, air conditioning, rainfall shower or bath, curated bathroom amenities, high-speed Wi-Fi, smart TV, espresso machine, and a minibar. Details vary by room category — please consult individual room pages or contact us for specifics.
Is Wi-Fi available throughout the hotel?
Yes. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and throughout the common areas of the hotel. If you require a particularly stable connection for work, please let us know and we will ensure your room is positioned accordingly.
BOOKING & POLICIES
What is the check-in and check-out time at Pax Hotel Roma?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out can often be accommodated subject to availability — please request in advance and we will do our utmost to oblige. Luggage storage is always available on the day of arrival or departure.
What is the cancellation policy?
Our standard cancellation policy allows free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in. Non-refundable rates are available at a reduced price for guests confident of their plans. Specific terms will be presented clearly at the time of booking. We always recommend travel insurance for added peace of mind.
Can I book directly, and are there benefits to doing so?
Yes, and we strongly encourage it. Booking directly through our website — or by contacting us by email or phone — guarantees the best available rate, priority room selection, and a more personal pre-arrival relationship with our team. We may also offer complimentary upgrades or small gestures of welcome to direct bookers, at our discretion.
Do you accept large groups or exclusive buyouts?
With 16 rooms, Pax Hotel Roma is ideally suited to exclusive use buyouts for intimate celebrations, creative retreats, or private events. We handle a small number of exclusive buyout enquiries each year and give each one full personal attention. Please contact us directly to discuss your requirements.
THE PALAZZO
What is the history of the palazzo?
Pax Hotel Roma is housed in a 17th-century palazzo — one of thousands of noble residences that gave Rome its characteristic grandeur. The building has been carefully restored to preserve its original architectural character: high ceilings, stone details, and the particular quality of light unique to buildings of this age. The renovation sought to add modern comfort without erasing what time has given it.
What makes Pax Hotel Roma different from larger hotels in Rome?
Size is the foundation of everything we do. With only 16 rooms, we are never managing crowds — we are hosting guests. There are no queues, no call centres, no anonymous service. Our philosophy is one of simplicity and personal attention: a place to slow down and experience Rome at your own pace. If you want a hotel that feels like it knows you, that is what we have built.
Is Pax Hotel Roma suitable for a honeymoon or romantic stay?
Few cities in the world are as romantic as Rome, and few settings within Rome are as intimate as a 16-room palazzo in the historic centre. We are very happy to arrange bespoke romantic touches — flowers, champagne, decoration, a private dinner recommendation, or a curated evening itinerary. Please let us know the occasion when booking.
How is the noise level in the hotel and surrounding area?
"Right in the centre, yet away from the crowds" is not a marketing phrase — it is the reason we chose this address. The building is set back from the main tourist routes, and our rooms are fitted with quality glazing to ensure restful, uninterrupted nights. Quiet is something we take seriously.
IN THEIR WORDS
The room was a great size and comfortable bed. Nicely decorated bathroom and amenities. Separate aircon for the room which was great (rather than central). Good shared kitchen that is well supplied. Very handy if you’re here for more than a day or two.The best thing about the hotel is the staff and location. Excellent service when we had an issue with a taxi. Really well located to walk to all the main areas.
— CONDÉ NAST TRAVELLER
Well kept and extremely clean. Great location, very close to everything. The staff was super nice, friendly, helpful and accommodating. We received messages before we arrived. We were truly impressed with attention to detail by the hotel and staff. The room was cleaned daily. Fresh towels were provided daily. All toiletries were provided, coffee, tea, fresh water, slippers. This is a hidden gem in the heart of the city.
